Bassist and bandleader Liam Gallagher joins veteran drummer Ted Warren and pianist Matt Endahl for an evening of music by two distinctive composers: American jazz innovator Carla Bley and Canadian saxophonist and composer Tara Davidson.

Ted Warren is one of Canada’s established jazz drummers, a Juno-nominated recording artist, bandleader, educator, and longtime member of the Guelph jazz community. His work has taken him across Canada and internationally, and he is a familiar presence at Silence.

Matt Endahl is a pianist and composer active in Guelph, Toronto, and Nashville, performing regularly with his own groups and with musicians throughout the region. He and Warren have performed together extensively, including as part of the WEW Trio.

Liam Gallagher is a Guelph-based bassist, composer, and bandleader and the founder of the Guelph Jazz Society. He has spent 15 years working as a professional musician in Toronto and now focuses much of his work on developing opportunities for jazz performance and collaboration in Guelph.

Bley’s music is adventurous, playful, lyrical, and deeply rooted in the jazz tradition. Davidson’s compositions bring a contemporary Canadian perspective, balancing strong melodies with sophisticated harmony and improvisational space.

Together, these three musicians bring the music of two great composers into the vernacular of Guelph’s jazz scene: intimate, exploratory, collaborative, and rooted in the experience of playing together.
